Sea Bluff

Sea Bluff is a small, low-density townhome and condo community at 2381 W County Highway 30A in Blue Mountain Beach. It sits on a naturally high dune on the Gulf side of Scenic 30A, next door to the Adagio resort, and the elevation gives the front row wide views over the Gulf of Mexico. The complex is small enough that guests often share the pool with only a few other families.

The community dates to the early 1980s and has around sixteen to twenty residences in three-story buildings, depending on the source. Seven townhomes are directly Gulf-front, with patios at sand level and balconies off the upper-floor bedrooms. The remaining homes face a lagoon-shaped pool in the center of the property and sit above garages or patios, with bedrooms on the top floor. Most homes are two bedrooms with two to two and a half baths and sleep six to eight, and several have been updated with granite kitchens and new furnishings.

Amenities are simple. The lagoon-shaped pool sits on the dune top and is not heated according to the main rental company, and a private beach access leads from the property to the sand. The small number of homes means the pool and beach are usually quiet. Every home is individually owned and rented through owners and a few local rental companies, so furnishings, bed layouts and extras like seasonal beach service vary by unit. Walton County’s Leave Only Footprints rules apply on the beach, so chairs and umbrellas need to come off the sand each evening.

Blue Mountain Beach has a village feel, and several local stops are within walking distance of Sea Bluff, including Blue Mountain Creamery, Blue Mountain Bakery, Red Fish Taco and the Blue Marble Smokehouse, along with the Justin Gaffrey gallery. Redfish Village is close by, and the Timpoochee Trail runs east toward Grayton Beach, WaterColor and Seaside and west toward Gulf Place Town Center, each about three miles away. Grayton Beach State Park is a short drive east.

Sea Bluff suits couples, small families and friends traveling together who want a townhome layout with separate floors, a quiet pool and direct beach access, without the size of a large resort. Guests who want to be on the front row should look for the Gulf-front townhomes, while lagoon-facing homes offer the same amenities a short walk from the sand. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport and Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport are both within about an hour’s drive.
