Fairfield Inn & Suites Destin is on Emerald Coast Parkway (US 98), a short walk from Henderson Beach State Park and the Gator Beach access, in the stretch between central Destin and Destin Commons. The four-story Marriott hotel has 100 rooms and suites, each with a mini-fridge and microwave, and some upper rooms have views toward the Gulf.
The hotel has both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, which helps in the cooler months. A hot breakfast is included every morning. There is a fitness center with cardio machines and free weights, guest laundry, a small market, a business center and meeting space. Parking is free, with electric vehicle charging. Pets are not permitted, though service animals are welcome.
Henderson Beach State Park’s dunes, boardwalks and beach are about a four-minute walk, and Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park is under two miles west. HarborWalk Village is a short drive, and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is about 19 miles away, with a fee-based shuttle service available.
It suits families who want pool time whatever the weather, Marriott Bonvoy members, and beachgoers who would rather walk to a state park beach than a crowded public access. Breakfast runs a little later on weekends, and the in-room fridges are handy for beach snacks and leftovers from the seafood restaurants along the highway.
