La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Panama City is on East 23rd Street, the main commercial corridor across the north side of Panama City. The hotel has 119 rooms spread across more than one building, and restaurants, shops and the Panama City Mall area are all within a few minutes. The downtown marina is about 15 minutes south, and the beaches are roughly 20 minutes west across the Hathaway Bridge.
Rooms come with mini refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, desks and flat screen TVs. The free Bright Side Breakfast is offered daily in a grab and go format, and there is a snack shop, a seasonal outdoor pool, a fitness center, a business center, guest laundry and a meeting room.
Parking is free. The hotel is pet friendly and has an off-leash pet area, and it accepts up to two dogs or cats, up to 75 pounds each, for a nightly fee with a per-stay cap. Pets stay in designated rooms, and the 24/7 front desk can point out nearby places to walk them.
It suits road trippers and travelers with dogs, visitors to the nearby hospitals and colleges, and anyone who wants simple rooms and free parking in a central spot between downtown, Tyndall Air Force Base and the beach. Gulf World, Shipwreck Island Waterpark and St. Andrews State Park are all within about half an hour.
