TradeWinds Italian Restaurant has anchored Government Avenue in downtown Niceville since 1996, and the family behind it has kept the same recipes and the same welcoming service style for three decades. Tom D’Eufemia took over an existing restaurant that had been selling pizza, sandwiches, and home-brewing supplies, and rebuilt it around his own enthusiasm for Italian cooking, wine, and the Niceville community. He passed away in 2014, but the D’Eufemia family kept the restaurant running, and it now counts a third generation of the family among its staff. Tom’s original enthusiasm for pairing good wine with Italian cooking also carried forward, and the restaurant still keeps a wine list built to match the menu rather than treating it as an afterthought tacked onto the drink options.

The chicken and veal section of the menu shows the kitchen’s range. Veal Principessa and Chicken Principessa both run 22.95 dollars, Chicken Marsala also lands at 22.95, and a simpler Chicken Parmigiana comes in lower at 19.95. Piccata and Arabiata preparations appear on both the chicken and veal side of the menu, giving regulars a reason to order the same dish two different ways on two different visits.

The seafood and pasta section pushes higher, with Linguine con Cozze at 26.95 and grouper dishes such as Grouper Piccata and Grouper Alforno priced at market rate depending on the day’s catch. A Puttanesca at 27.95 and a seafood-heavy Mediterraneo at 26.95 sit at the top of the menu for anyone celebrating a special occasion on the Emerald Coast.

Pizza rounds out the menu in both small and large sizes, from a straightforward Margherita and plain cheese pie to the loaded Luigi’s and Capricciosa. A build-your-own calzone starts at 18.95 with add-on toppings priced individually, useful for families with different tastes trying to agree on one order. Every category on the menu reflects a kitchen more interested in classic technique than trend, which is part of why the restaurant has held on to the same loyal customer base for so long.
