Osprey on the Gulf is a family-owned beachfront hotel at 15801 Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach, a short walk east of Pier Park. It is one of two neighboring properties run by Gilmore Resorts, a family operation on this stretch of sand since 1957, and it sits right on the beach with a boardwalk leading from the grounds to the Gulf.

The hotel has 70 rooms spread across two buildings. Every room includes a fully equipped kitchen and a private balcony overlooking the Gulf, which makes the property practical for families who want to cook some meals and for guests planning longer stays. Room styles range from family suites to spacious standard rooms, and the low-rise buildings keep the scale personal, with guests often greeting the same staff from year to year. Because every room has a kitchen, guests can stock up on groceries and keep breakfast and lunch simple, saving restaurant meals for evenings at Pier Park.

The pool area includes outdoor pools and a children’s pool that are seasonally heated, along with a hot tub, sundecks, and lounge chairs. The location is a strong point. Pier Park’s shops, restaurants, movie theater, and attractions are within walking distance, as is the Russell-Fields City Pier, and the lively central stretch of Front Beach Road is right outside. Beach volleyball, fishing, and water sports rentals are available nearby on the sand. The sister property, The Driftwood Lodge, is next door and shares the same family ownership. The two Gilmore properties share a similar retro style and relaxed pace, and planned activities during busy seasons give kids something to look forward to. The beach in front of the hotel is part of the lively Pier Park stretch, so seasonal chair rentals and water sports are close at hand.

Osprey on the Gulf is a good fit for families and groups who want a kitchen, a balcony facing the water, and a relaxed, low-rise atmosphere rather than a high-rise tower. It also works for couples who like to walk to dinner at Pier Park and spend the rest of the day on the beach. For quieter sand, St. Andrews State Park at the east end of the island and the West End beaches are an easy drive. The low-rise buildings also mean no long elevator waits, a small advantage on busy summer weekends.
