Windemere

Windemere is a Gulf-front condominium high-rise at 14511 Perdido Key Drive, in the middle of Perdido Key just across the road from Lost Key Golf Club. The building sits on about 200 feet of beachfront, and an undeveloped beachfront lot next door adds extra open sand on one side.

Windemere offers a wider range of sizes than many buildings on the key. Rental listings include one bedroom units around 760 square feet, two bedroom units of about 1,180 to 1,215 square feet, some with a bunk area, three bedroom units near 1,600 square feet and a few four bedroom plans. Most units have large beachfront balconies that open from both the living room and the main bedroom. Four elevators serve the building.

Shared amenities include an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness room and a grilling area, and some units come with a private pool cabana. A boardwalk crosses the dunes to the beach. Parking is covered, with rental companies typically noting two spaces per unit. The campus is smoke-free.

The condos at Windemere are individually owned and rented through owners and several rental companies. That means furnishings, parking arrangements, pet rules and extras such as beach chairs change from one unit to the next, so check each listing for what is included.

Lost Key Golf Club is practically next door, Perdido Key State Park is about a mile west and Big Lagoon State Park is a short drive inland. The Jellyfish and the Perdido Key Breakfast Club are about a mile away, and Johnson Beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore are roughly two miles east. Windemere suits golfers, families and groups who want a choice of unit sizes in a mid-island location between the state park and the National Seashore.
