Kaleidoscope Theatre
About
Kaleidoscope Theatre is Bay County’s long-running volunteer community theater, producing dramas, comedies and musicals since 1971. The company got its start when the Panama City Beach Civic Center offered it a place to perform. It incorporated as a nonprofit in 1976, and in 1978 it bought a small church on an acre of land and converted it into a 200-seat theater.
Today the theater is at 207 E 24th St, Lynn Haven, FL 32444; reach it at 850-441-3096 or kt-online.org. The current building opened in 1990 with The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and has 262 refurbished seats, some of them salvaged from the historic Ritz/Martin movie theater in downtown Panama City. Season 52 opened in August 2026 with Curtains, a musical whodunit comedy, and spring 2026 brought Mel Brooks’ The Producers to the stage.
Kaleidoscope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers, and its stated mission centers on presenting live theater, and teaching about it, for the cultural enrichment of Northwest Florida.
