About

Perfect Plain Brewing Co. is a downtown Pensacola brewery and taproom on East Garden Street, a block off Palafox. Founded in 2017, it brews on a 10-barrel system that is fully visible from the taproom, so guests drink at long communal tables with the brewhouse on display. It is part of Perennial Hospitality Group, which also runs the Garden & Grain cocktail bar, the Perennial patio bar and The Well, a Floridian-style lounge, all downtown.

The building itself carries layers of Pensacola history. According to the brewery, its architecture includes elements spanning more than 75 years, and its footprint matches one of the original 1764 garden lots, parcels granted to early residents of the colonial town for growing food. It is a small reminder of how old the street grid in this part of downtown really is.

The tap list rotates between flagship beers and taproom-only releases, and Perfect Plain beers are also sold in stores around the Pensacola area. In April 2026 the brewery released The Yard, an amber lager brewed in collaboration with Naval Air Station Pensacola, described as crisp and approachable with hazelnut and toasted-bread notes at 4.5 percent ABV. Collaborations and seasonal releases like that one are a good reason to check the board even on a repeat visit.

The patio is dog friendly, and the brewery hosts events through the year. Perfect Plain’s posted hours are 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, noon to 1:00 a.m. on Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. Plenty of restaurants are within a short walk for dinner before or after. Check hours before you go, since event nights and holidays can change the schedule.

The brewery is also a practical meeting point for groups, since the communal tables and patio can absorb a crowd and the rest of Perennial Hospitality Group’s venues are close by for a change of scene. Garden & Grain focuses on cocktails, The Well offers a lounge setting and Perennial is an open-air patio bar. Visitors who want to take beer home can use the brewery’s online beer finder to locate cans in area stores.

Garden Street is one of the main cross streets through downtown, and the taproom is an easy stop before a show at the Saenger Theatre or between dinner and drinks on Palafox. Union Public House and several other bars and restaurants are nearby, and Plaza Ferdinand VII and the waterfront are a short walk south.
