About
Cottages on the Green is at 1 Doug Ford Drive, on the grounds of Perdido Bay Golf Club in the Innerarity area on Pensacola’s far southwest side. The property is on the mainland rather than the barrier island, but it is only a short drive from the bridge to Perdido Key. Garcon Bayou Nature Park is a three minute walk away, and Big Lagoon State Park, with its boardwalks, observation tower and kayak launches, is about a mile and a half away.
The accommodations are single-story cottages set beside the golf course, rather than a standard hotel building. Cottage rooms include layouts with two queen beds that sleep four, with a kitchenette holding a microwave and a refrigerator, air conditioning and ceiling fans. The golf club’s restaurant and bar are on site, and there is a seasonal outdoor pool that opens in spring and closes at the end of summer. WiFi and parking are free.
Golf is the main draw. Perdido Bay Golf Club has an 18-hole course, a driving range and lessons, and the club is steps from the cottage doors. Pets are not allowed, apart from service animals. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.
Expedia lists Naval Air Station Pensacola about seven miles away, making the cottages a quieter alternative to the base-area hotels for visiting families. Pensacola International Airport is about 38 minutes by car, and downtown Pensacola is a similar distance.
Guest comments on Expedia regularly mention friendly staff and a clean property. The cottages suit golf trips, couples who want a calm stay near the water without beach crowds, and families who plan to split time between Big Lagoon, Perdido Key’s beaches and the Navy base. The Innerarity peninsula and Perdido Bay area have a handful of seafood restaurants and marinas within a short drive, and the Gulf is about ten minutes away across the Perdido Key bridge.
