Garner Hotel Panama City Beach Northeast is the former Sleep Inn and Suites at 9201 Front Beach Road, now part of IHG’s Garner midscale brand. The four-story hotel has 90 rooms and sits in the middle of the attractions strip near Thomas Drive. ZooWorld and Cobra Adventure Park are a couple of minutes’ walk, WonderWorks and Ripley’s Believe It or Not are under a mile, and the nearest public beach access is about a mile and a half.
Standard and premium rooms come with a king or two queens. A free hot breakfast includes build-your-own egg bowls and sandwiches, and bean-to-cup coffee is available all day. There is an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a 24-hour market and, unusually for a hotel this size, an indoor mini golf course and arcade. A welcome snack is offered at check-in, and housekeeping is daily.
Parking is free for registered guests. Dogs and cats up to 50 pounds are allowed, two per room, for a nightly fee with a per-stay cap. The minimum check-in age is 21. Rainforest Blacklight Golf and Arcade is next door, and Tyndall Air Force Base is about a half hour drive east.
The Garner suits families with kids who plan to hit the zoo, the arcades and the go-kart tracks, and budget travelers who want a refreshed brand and breakfast included.
