Hotel Del Sol is at 6900 Pensacola Boulevard, on the US 29 corridor just south of the Interstate 10 interchange on Pensacola’s north side. It operated for years as the Key West Inn Pensacola, and some booking sites still use that name. The property sits among several independent motels on this stretch of the boulevard, including the Executive Inn and the M-Star next door.

All 118 rooms are on a single level, so there are no stairs or elevators to deal with, which suits older travelers and anyone hauling luggage or tools. The grounds include an outdoor pool, a garden and picnic area, a guest laundry and a 764 square foot conference room. There is an electric vehicle charging station, and WiFi is free in all rooms.

Parking is free, with space for RVs, buses and trucks.

Expedia lists Marcus Pointe Baptist Church about a mile and a half away, Five Flags Speedway about four and a half miles away, the University of West Florida about seven miles away, the Saenger Theatre about 11 miles away and Naval Air Station Pensacola a little farther, with Pensacola International Airport about 11 minutes by car.

Hotel Del Sol is a budget stop for road trippers on Interstate 10, work crews who need to park large vehicles and visitors to events at Marcus Pointe and Five Flags. It has no restaurant or breakfast, but Waffle House and other quick meals are a short walk along the boulevard. Given the recent name change, travelers should confirm current amenities with the property before arrival. The ground-level layout, with parking steps from each door, is the main reason travelers with mobility concerns, pets in carriers or lots of gear choose it over the multi-story chains near the interstate. Uncle Sandy’s Macaw Bird Park and Fast Eddie’s Fun Center are both a short drive away for families.
