Expedia lists University Town Plaza about six tenths of a mile away, Pensacola State College about two and a half miles, Cordova Mall about four miles and Pensacola International Airport about four miles.
The three-story hotel has 130 rooms. Breakfast is complimentary each morning, and the outdoor pool opens seasonally from early spring through mid November. There is a guest laundry, and WiFi is free. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, but the interchange is lined with chain restaurants.
La Quinta is known for welcoming pets, and this location accepts up to two dogs or cats per room with a weight limit, for a nightly fee. Parking is free, and there is room for RVs, buses and trucks, which helps travelers towing boats or trailers.

Families heading to the Gulf often use it as an affordable first or last night, then move to a beach rental once check-in opens. Truck and trailer parking is also useful for anglers bringing a boat to launch in the bays.
