Palacio

Palacio is a Gulf-front condominium tower at 13661 Perdido Key Drive, on the eastern half of Perdido Key. The building is easy to spot from the beach thanks to the three glass pyramids on its roof, and it sits about a mile from Johnson Beach and the Gulf Islands National Seashore.

Completed in 2001, the 19-story tower holds about 103 residences. Units are mostly two and three bedroom plans, with some larger layouts, and rental company listings show two bedroom units around 1,300 square feet and three bedroom units near 1,900 square feet. Every unit has a private south-facing balcony, and living rooms and main bedrooms open to the Gulf through floor to ceiling glass doors. Many main bathrooms have garden whirlpool tubs and separate showers.

Shared amenities include a large beachside outdoor pool and sundeck, a seasonally heated lap pool, a hot tub, a Gulf-front fitness room, two lighted tennis courts, gazebos and a grilling and picnic area. A private boardwalk leads over the dunes to the beach. Building access uses keypads and fobs, and residents park in covered spaces. The campus is smoke-free.

Palacio’s condos are individually owned and rented through their owners and several rental companies, so decor, parking passes, pet rules, and any seasonal beach chair service depend on the unit you book. Read each listing closely to see what is included.

Lost Key Golf Club is about two miles away, and casual restaurants such as The Jellyfish and the Perdido Key Breakfast Club are a short drive west. The Flora-Bama sits about five miles away near the Alabama line. Palacio works well for couples and families who want a quieter stretch of Perdido Key with room to spread out and a choice between a leisure pool and a lap pool.
