Red Roof Inn Pensacola Fairgrounds is at 2591 Wilde Lake Boulevard, beside the Country Inn & Suites on a side street off Pine Forest Road at Interstate 10 exit 7. Despite the name, the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds is a few miles south on Mobile Highway, and Five Flags Speedway is closer, about a mile and a half away. Expedia lists Pensacola International Airport about 19 minutes by car and Naval Air Station Pensacola about 17 miles away.
The three-story building has 74 rooms and opened in 1996. Each room has a microwave and a mini fridge, and there is a guest laundry, a 24 hour business center and free WiFi. The outdoor pool is seasonal, closed in the winter months, with set daytime hours during the season.
Parking is free. Like other Red Roof hotels, this one is pet friendly, allowing up to two dogs or cats under a weight limit for a daily fee.
The Fairgrounds Red Roof suits budget travelers with pets, fair and speedway visitors and Interstate 10 drivers who want to stay on the west side of the city. The restaurants and stores on Pine Forest Road are a couple of minutes away. Cordova Mall and Pensacola State College are about ten miles east, and Perdido Key and the Alabama Gulf Coast are within about a half hour’s drive for a beach day.
