Regency Towers

Regency Towers is a private, gated condominium resort on the Gulf at 5801 Thomas Drive, on the east end of Panama City Beach. The 14-story building has 340 condos and has operated as a family-friendly vacation resort for more than 40 years. Its location off Thomas Drive keeps it away from the traffic of central Front Beach Road while still putting it directly on the beach.

Condos range from one to four bedrooms, and many have Gulf views from private balconies. Units are individually owned and rented through the resort’s own rental office, which handles reservations, check-in, and guest services from a front desk at the property. Some units include beach chairs, which is worth checking when choosing a condo. The four-bedroom units work well for extended families or two families traveling together.

The resort has several pools, a fitness center, and the Sandbar, a recently remodeled on-site restaurant and bar that serves food and drinks with seasonal hours. The building has three elevators, and the gated entry adds a layer of privacy. A 24/7 live beach webcam on the resort website lets guests check conditions before they arrive. Guests reserve directly through the resort’s own booking site or by phone, and the rental office staff can answer questions about specific units before arrival.

The east end of Panama City Beach is known for its calmer atmosphere. Thomas Drive has restaurants, marinas, and charter fishing around the Grand Lagoon, and St. Andrews State Park, with its jetties, trails, and snorkeling, is a short drive away. Shell Island trips leave from the Grand Lagoon area. Pier Park and the central Front Beach Road attractions are about a 15 to 20 minute drive west. The beach in front of the resort tends to be less crowded than the central stretch of Front Beach Road.

Regency Towers suits families and returning visitors who want a large condo with a kitchen in a quieter, gated building, as well as anglers and boaters who want to be near the Grand Lagoon. Guests looking for nightlife or walkable shopping will find more of that near Pier Park, but those who prefer a calmer beach and a resort with its own restaurant and bar will find this end of the island a good fit.
