Spanish Key

Spanish Key is a Gulf-front condominium building at 17287 Perdido Key Drive, at the far west end of Perdido Key just a few hundred yards from the Flora-Bama and the Alabama state line. The gated property sits on about 500 feet of private beach, and every unit in the building faces the Gulf.

The nine-story building was completed in 2001 and has about 76 condos. Rental units are mostly three bedroom, three bath plans of roughly 1,600 square feet that sleep eight to ten. Units typically include a Gulf-front balcony, a wet bar, a washer and dryer and a main bath with a garden tub.

Shared amenities include an indoor heated pool, an outdoor pool, a covered outdoor hot tub, a sauna and a fitness room. There are two gazebos, a grilling area, a riverside picnic area and a boat dock on Old River across the street. Parking is covered and the grounds are gated, with two parking passes typical per rental.

Spanish Key condos are individually owned and rented through their owners and several rental companies, so pet policies, parking, furnishings and seasonal beach service vary by unit. Some owners allow pets while many rental programs do not, so confirm before booking.

The Flora-Bama, its marina and watersports rentals are within walking distance, and the restaurants and shops of Orange Beach are a short drive west. Perdido Key State Park is about three miles east, while Lost Key Golf Club and Johnson Beach are farther down the key. Spanish Key suits families and groups who want roomy three bedroom condos and an indoor pool, and who like being close to live music at the Flora-Bama.
