TownePlace Suites by Marriott Niceville Eglin AFB Area sits at 100 Niceville Avenue, near the intersection of State Road 85 and John Sims Parkway in the commercial heart of Niceville. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is about 4.3 miles away, and Eglin Air Force Base is a short drive south on SR-85.
The all-suite hotel has 80 suites, each with a full kitchen that includes a conventional oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and cookware. Suites also have pull-out sofa beds, work stations and organized closets, which makes them comfortable for stays of several weeks.
A free buffet breakfast is served daily. The outdoor pool has a lift or sloped entry, there is an outdoor fire pit, and the fitness center has free weights, a treadmill and ellipticals. Parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary, and a business center handles copying and faxing. Up to two pets are allowed for a non-refundable fee. There is no airport shuttle.
This is a strong fit for temporary duty, relocations and contractors, and for families who want space to cook while visiting Northwest Florida State College or relatives stationed at Eglin. Turkey Creek Nature Trail and the restaurants and shops along John Sims Parkway are close by. Pensacola International is about 61 miles west and Northwest Florida Beaches International about 58 miles east, so VPS is the practical airport. Check-in is at 4 pm.
