About

Wisteria Inn is a small, independently run inn at 20404 Front Beach Road in Laguna Beach, the quieter west end of Panama City Beach. It sits across the road from the Gulf, and the inn says the sand is about 30 steps from its gate. The setting is a walled tropical garden with a koi pond, and the inn caters exclusively to adults, so the atmosphere is built around couples rather than families.

There are 15 rooms, all on the ground floor and each decorated around its own theme. The eight larger rooms carry names such as Far East, Moroccan, The Raj, Toile de Jouy, Serenghetti and South Beach, along with two nautical rooms, while the seven smaller rooms are named for their colors, from Aqua and Cocoa to Honey, Red and Tan. Rooms include Wi-Fi, bath robes, plush towels, a mini fridge and coffee service, and the larger rooms add an iron and ironing board.

The pool and hot tub sit in the middle of the garden, and mimosas are served poolside. In the evening the inn pours complimentary wine in the lobby, a simple ritual that gives guests a chance to meet. Beach towels and chairs are provided, so there is no need to pack or rent them for the short walk across the road.

The inn describes itself as pet friendly, and its booking form accepts dogs, so it is a rare adults-oriented option for travelers bringing a pet. Parking is on site. Laguna Beach has a scattering of casual restaurants, and Pier Park is about ten minutes east by car, while Inlet Beach and the Rosemary Beach end of 30A are a similar distance west.

Wisteria Inn suits couples, honeymooners and friends traveling without children who want a quiet, personal place to stay with the Gulf across the street, rather than a high-rise with crowded pool decks.
