Comfort Inn & Suites Destin near Henderson Beach is on Commons Drive East, next door to Spark by Hilton and just south of US 98, a short walk from the Destin Commons shopping center. The 90-room hotel was remodeled in 2023, and rooms have 55-inch televisions and work desks.
A hot breakfast is included each morning. The outdoor pool area has charcoal grills for cooking out, and the hotel has a small snack bar, a fitness center and guest laundry. Parking is free. Pets are not allowed, which some guests with allergies will appreciate.
Despite the name, the hotel is not on the beach. Henderson Beach State Park is about a mile and a half west on US 98, and the public beach accesses along Scenic Highway 98 are a few minutes’ drive south. Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park is a short drive away, and Destin Commons has department stores, restaurants and a movie theater within walking distance.
It suits families on a beach vacation who want a pool, a grill and breakfast handled without paying for a Gulf-front room, as well as shoppers and business travelers who want easy access to US 98. Rooms include laptop-friendly workspaces and complimentary toiletries, and the pool deck’s grills and picnic tables make it easy to cook dinner after a day at the beach instead of heading back out onto US 98 in summer traffic.
