Hotel Indigo Panama City Marina

Hotel Indigo Panama City Marina opened in July 2023 at the foot of Harrison Avenue, where downtown Panama City meets St. Andrews Bay. The five-story hotel has 124 rooms and was developed by The St. Joe Company as part of the rebuilt marina district, and it is operated under IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand, which ties each property’s design to its neighborhood story.

Here the theme is the waterfront itself. Interiors draw on the indigo plants that once grew along this shoreline and on the steamships that called at the old port, with deep blue and violet tones, nautical details and art installations throughout. Many rooms look out over the boats in Panama City Marina and across the bay.

Two bars anchor the social life of the hotel. Tarpon’s is the lobby restaurant and cocktail lounge, with a coastal menu that leans Southern, and Steam on 5 is a rooftop bar with seafood, light bites and cocktails above the marina. Outside, a seasonal bayfront pool and a fire pit overlook the water, and there is a 24-hour fitness center with marina views, a marketplace for snacks and about 1,000 square feet of event space plus an outdoor patio.

Self parking is free, which is handy downtown. Dogs up to 40 pounds are accepted, two per room, for a fee per stay. The Marina Civic Center and the marina are a short walk, and the Martin Theatre, the Panama City Center for the Arts and the Harrison Avenue restaurants and bars are all within a few blocks.

The hotel suits couples, wedding parties and business travelers who want a walkable downtown base on the water, with the Panama City Beach sand about a 25 minute drive west across the Hathaway Bridge. Downtown’s farmers market, festivals and concerts at the marina are all within walking distance, so it is easy to spend a weekend without moving the car.
