About

CityArts Cooperative calls itself the largest arts cooperative in Northwest Florida, and it brings Bay County’s creative community under one roof in downtown Panama City. The co-op combines an art gallery with a dance studio and describes itself as a space for creatives of all types, hosting art exhibits, art and dance classes and cultural events.

CityArts is at 318 Luverne Ave, Panama City, FL 32401; call 850-769-0608 or visit cityartscooperative.com. For members, the co-op offers co-working space, reservable classroom and dance studio space, business services, networking and a place to display and sell work in the gallery. For visitors, the gallery is the main draw, with pieces by local artists across many media.

The building also hosts regular classes. The City of Panama City’s calendar lists a weekly downtown dance class at CityArts on Tuesdays, and the co-op hosts community events such as art photography days for regional art programs. Gallery hours are limited and change, so check the website, Instagram (@cityartscooperative) or call before you go, or email the co-op to set up an appointment. CityArts held a grand reopening in July 2017, and it continues to be a hub for Bay County artists, dancers and makers, a good stop for anyone curious about the local creative scene beyond the beach.
