Ruskin Place Artist Colony
About
Ruskin Place Artist Colony is Seaside’s gallery quarter: a shaded park framed by three-story townhouses with galleries and boutiques on the ground floor. It sits between the Seaside Chapel and Central Square, and the colony describes it as the gateway from the Gulf and Scenic Highway 30A to the chapel. Brick walkways, big oaks and park seating give visitors a shady place to sit between shops.
The colony’s address is 205 Ruskin Pl, Seaside, FL 32459, and its website is ruskinplaceartistcolony.com, which lists the current shops and an events calendar. The galleries and boutiques around the park all have an art-related theme. Current shops include Ruskin.Studio (an artist collective), Big Mama’s Hula Girl Gallery, Newbill Collection by the Sea, An Apartment in Paris and Albert F’s, a fashion and accessories shop that has been part of Seaside since 2000.
The park is open to stroll at no cost, and each shop sets its own hours. The colony hosts seasonal art markets in Ruskin Park with artisan booths, handmade jewelry, pottery and live music. Check the colony’s calendar before you go, since market dates change from season to season.
