About

Stage Crafters Community Theatre calls itself Florida’s oldest all-volunteer community theatre. Actors from the earlier Playground Players founded it in 1972, opening with Everybody Loves Opal at Fort Walton Beach High School. Since then the company has trained more than 12,000 volunteers and played to more than 350,000 audience members over more than 50 seasons.

Performances take place at the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium, 109 Miracle Strip Pkwy in Fort Walton Beach; the phone is 850-243-1101 and the website is stagecraftersfwb.com. Each year brings a four-show Main Stage season of plays and Broadway musicals, plus One Act performances, school programs and fundraising performances for other nonprofits. Guys and Dolls runs November 6–8 and 13–15, 2026. The 2027 lineup is The Producers in March, A Streetcar Named Desire in June, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in August and The Wedding Singer in November.

Shows usually play Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, with Sunday matinees at 2pm. Tickets are sold online through Ticketor; check the website for current prices. Flex-pass subscriptions come in bundles of four and can be used for any shows in the season, saving about 20% over single tickets.

The company bought a permanent home in 2023, and its rehearsal hall is at 40 Robinwood Dr SW. As an all-volunteer nonprofit, it welcomes anyone interested in performing, backstage crew work or technical roles, and it offers internships and mentoring that may count toward school credit or community service hours.
