Vineyard Vines
About
Vineyard Vines occupies its own storefront at Grand Boulevard, sharing the same address as its boutique neighbors at 495 Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach but stocking a completely different wardrobe: classic New England preppy style built for a Gulf Coast vacation. The instantly recognizable pink whale logo marks everything from polos and button-downs to swim trunks and the brand’s original silk ties, all suited to a week of golf, boating, and dinners around Sandestin and 30A.

The brand’s own history reads like a classic entrepreneurial origin story. Brothers Shep and Ian Murray started Vineyard Vines in 1998 on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, selling neckties out of the back of a Jeep and off a boat rather than from a traditional shop. One especially strong July weekend, they sold 800 ties, and they reinvested the proceeds straight back into more inventory. That momentum eventually justified an actual office, and the ties gave way to the full lineup of clothing and accessories the brand carries today.
From the beginning, the Murrays built the company around a simple idea captured in the brand’s own slogan, “Every day should feel this good.” That philosophy is built into the product line itself: comfortable, colorful, easy-to-wear pieces meant for time outdoors rather than a desk. Vineyard Vines moved its headquarters from Martha’s Vineyard to Stamford, Connecticut, in 2015 as the brand expanded nationally, though Shep and Ian have kept full ownership of the company the entire time, building it without outside equity investors.
At the Grand Boulevard store, that “Good Life” ethos translates into a shopping trip built for a beach vacation. As the shop describes its own selection, “From technical gear to our original silks, we’ve got any and everything you’d need to get out there and live the Good Life.” Staff can help outfit an entire family for a resort week, from a father’s golf polo to a toddler’s whale-print swim trunks, without leaving the store.
The Miramar Beach location, located in Building 440, Suite S100, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., matching the hours kept by its Grand Boulevard neighbors, and can be reached directly at 850-837-0987. Because Grand Boulevard operates as a genuine open-air lifestyle center just steps from Sandestin’s resort entrance, with more than 765,000 square feet of retail, dining, office, and hotel space along the boulevard, a visit here fits easily into a longer afternoon that also includes lunch, other boutiques, and an evening movie or concert nearby.
For visitors building a vacation wardrobe, Vineyard Vines offers a straightforward pitch: durable, brightly colored clothing designed for exactly the kind of boating, golfing, and beach walking that fills a typical Sandestin itinerary. Whether picking up a last-minute quarter-zip for a cool evening on the water or hunting down the whale logo as a souvenir, shoppers find a store built entirely around coastal life, which makes it a near-perfect match for the Emerald Coast. The current catalog and full size run are also browsable at vineyardvines.com for anyone planning ahead of a trip, though trying on the fit in person before a week of wear is usually worth the stop.
