Belle Mer is a Gulf-front condominium high-rise at 8269 Gulf Boulevard on Navarre Beach, between Navarre Towers and Emerald Surf. Built in 1997, the tower sits on about 247 feet of Gulf frontage, with balconies on every floor and a dune walkover to the beach. Navarre Beach occupies a short developed stretch of Santa Rosa Island between protected lands, with the Gulf Islands National Seashore to the west, which gives the town a smaller and calmer feel than larger beach destinations.
Belle Mer is known for larger units. Floor plans run from two bedrooms up to four and five bedrooms, and some three bedroom units are among the more spacious condos on the island, with Gulf-front balconies stretching more than 40 feet. Many units look across both the Gulf and Santa Rosa Sound from their upper floors.
Shared amenities include a Gulf-front pool and sundeck, a hot tub, a fitness center, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, barbecue grills and a party and meeting room with a full kitchen. The building has on-site management and security.
Belle Mer condos are individually owned and rented through their owners and several rental companies, so decor, parking, pet rules and beach chair service vary by unit. Confirm the details of each listing before you book. The sand here is soft and white, and the water is often calm and clear in summer. Because sea turtles nest on Navarre Beach from May through October, guests are asked to keep beach-facing lights low at night and to remove chairs and toys from the sand before dark.
Navarre Beach is a smaller, quieter beach community, and from Belle Mer it is a short drive east to the Navarre Beach Pier, the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary and the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Sage Paddle Company rents bikes, kayaks and paddleboards, and the protected Gulf Islands National Seashore stretches west toward Pensacola Beach. The Gulf Breeze Zoo and the National Naval Aviation Museum make good day trips. Belle Mer suits large families and multi-generation groups who want a big condo with plenty of bedrooms and a full set of shared amenities.
