Crystal Dunes is a Gulf-front condominium building on Scenic Highway 98 in the Crystal Beach area of Destin. It sits directly on the beach, and every unit faces the Gulf of Mexico with an unobstructed view from its balcony.
Built in 1999, Crystal Dunes stands six stories and holds 38 condominiums, according to association and county records compiled by Emerald Coast Condo Map. Rentals are large, with three- and four-bedroom layouts, two to four full bathrooms and room for six to thirteen guests. Rental listings describe granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, tile floors, crown molding and private beachfront balconies. Rental listings include units from the second floor up to the top floors, and each one faces the water.
Shared amenities include a seasonally heated pool, a community hot tub, grills, elevators, gated entry and direct access to the beach.
Crystal Beach is a quieter part of Destin with low- and mid-rise buildings along Scenic Highway 98. Restaurants, beach shops and casual dining are within walking distance or a short drive, Destin Commons is a few minutes north for shopping and a movie theater, and Henderson Beach State Park is a short drive west. Silver Sands Premium Outlets and the Sandestin area are a short drive east.
Crystal Dunes suits large families and groups traveling together who need more bedrooms than a typical beachfront condo offers. The building’s moderate size and Crystal Beach setting give it a calmer feel than the busier high-rise corridor closer to the harbor.
