About
Destin Beach Club is a low-rise condominium complex directly on the Gulf at 1150 Scenic Highway 98 in central Destin. Built in 1984, it has 47 condos in a three-story building with about 280 feet of beach frontage, which gives it a small, neighborly feel compared with the high-rise towers on either side of this stretch of Highway 98. Guests reach the beach through a gated beach access from the grounds, without crossing a road.
The condos are one-bedroom units of roughly 840 to 950 square feet with one and a half or two bathrooms, and many have hall bunks that add sleeping space for kids. Units have kitchens, and patios or private decks face the Gulf. Rentals are handled by the complex’s own office, and staff are on site daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help with check-in and questions.
Amenities are simple and focused on the beach. There is a beachfront heated swimming pool and an enclosed hot tub, an expansive deck with lounge chairs and community grills for cookouts. Two beach chairs and an umbrella are included from March 1 through October 31, and the property has security monitoring and non-covered parking. A live beach cam on the website shows current conditions on the sand. Because the building has only three floors, many units are a short walk from the pool deck, and ground-floor condos open almost directly onto the lawn and beach access. The one-bedroom layouts with hall bunks let a family of four fit comfortably, and the full kitchens make it practical to cook breakfast and pack lunches for the beach. The on-site office staff can also help with local recommendations for restaurants, fishing charters and activities, and can answer questions about the beach setup before arrival.
The location in the middle of Destin’s beachfront keeps drive times short. The Back Porch, a long-running seafood restaurant on the beach, is nearby on Scenic Highway 98, and The Track and Big Kahuna’s are a short drive east, along with Destin Commons. Destin Harbor, HarborWalk Village and the charter fishing fleet are a few minutes west, and Henderson Beach State Park is a short drive east for boardwalks and quieter sand. Several golf courses are within a 15-minute drive.
Destin Beach Club suits couples and small families who want a quiet, low-rise building right on the beach with a pool and daily beach setup, and who do not need the amenities of a large resort. With only 47 units and three floors, there are no long elevator waits, and the building’s 280 feet of beach is shared by relatively few guests. Units are one-bedroom only, so larger groups would need to book more than one condo, and those who want a restaurant, spa or kids’ program on site should look at the larger resorts nearby.
