Destin on the Gulf

Destin on the Gulf is a Gulf-front condominium building on Gulf Shore Drive on Holiday Isle, the narrow strip of land between the Destin Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. The building sits directly on the beach, and its balconies look across the sand to the emerald water.

Built in 1983, the building rises seven stories and holds 42 condominiums, according to association and county records compiled by Emerald Coast Condo Map. Rentals are mostly two-bedroom, two-bathroom units that sleep up to six, with fully equipped kitchens, individually decorated interiors and balconies with Gulf views. Some units have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors facing the water.

Shared amenities include a beachside pool that is heated at the association’s discretion, a community room, coin laundry on each floor, elevators and gated entry. Rental companies advertise free beach service in season for their guests, typically two chairs and an umbrella per unit.

Holiday Isle is a quieter residential stretch of Destin, yet it is only minutes from the rest of town. The Destin Harbor, HarborWalk Village and the charter fishing fleet are across the water and a short drive away, and restaurants, shops and family attractions line Highway 98 just east of the Holiday Isle entrance. The beaches here are known for clear water and fine white sand.

Destin on the Gulf suits couples, small families and friends who want a modest-size building directly on the sand with a pool and easy beach access. Guests who like a calmer setting away from the busiest part of Highway 98, while staying close to the harbor and its restaurants, will find Holiday Isle a convenient base.
