Emerald Dunes is a gated, low-density Gulf-front condominium building on Scenic Highway 98 in the Crystal Beach area of Destin. The six-story building sits on elevated dunes above the beach, with gated beach access leading down to the sand. With fewer than 30 units, it is one of the smaller buildings on this part of the coast, which keeps the grounds quiet.
Built in 1995, Emerald Dunes holds 27 condominiums, according to association and county records compiled by Emerald Coast Condo Map. Rentals include two- and three-bedroom units with two to three bathrooms that sleep up to eight. Each unit has a private washer and dryer, and owners have two parking spaces.
Shared amenities include a seasonally heated pool, an outdoor hot tub, commercial-grade grills, elevators and gated entry.
Several Crystal Beach restaurants are within walking distance, including Camille’s at Crystal Beach and the BeachWalk Cafe, and Henderson Beach State Park and Destin Commons are also close by according to rental descriptions. The Destin Harbor and HarborWalk Village are a short drive west, and Silver Sands Premium Outlets is a short drive east.
Emerald Dunes suits couples and families who want a quiet, gated building with few neighbors and a pool overlooking the Gulf. Guests who like to walk to a beachside restaurant for dinner will appreciate the Crystal Beach location, while the small number of units keeps the pool and beach from feeling crowded.
