Extended Stay America Select Suites – Destin – US 98 – Emerald Coast Pkwy is on Opa Locka Lane, a side street just off US 98 on the east side of Destin, between Destin Commons and Miramar Beach. The three-story building dates from 2000 and has 101 studio and one-bedroom suites.
Every suite has a kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stovetop and microwave, which is the main draw for families and longer stays. The hotel has an outdoor pool, a fitness center and guest laundry open around the clock. Wi-Fi and parking are free, and premium cable channels are included. Pets are allowed in designated suites for a daily fee, capped after the first week.
Emerald Bay Golf Club is about half a mile away, Miramar Beach’s public accesses are within walking distance for strong walkers at just under a mile, and James Lee Park is about a mile and a quarter. Destin Commons is a three-minute drive west. The grocery stores and restaurants along US 98 make it easy to stock the kitchen.
It suits budget-minded families who want to cook their own meals, workers on multi-week assignments, and travelers bringing a dog to the beach. Suites are non-smoking and have flat-screen televisions, and one-bedroom units add a separate sleeping area. The kitchen setup also makes it practical for seasonal workers and traveling nurses on multi-week assignments.
