The Chamber describes it as five minutes from Hurlburt Field and ten minutes from the beaches of Okaloosa Island, and Santa Rosa Sound is about a 13-minute walk south. The nearby Regal cinema is roughly 0.4 miles away.
The locally owned hotel opened in 2017 and has 91 rooms on four floors. Rooms are non-smoking, connecting rooms are available and the Hilton Honors app doubles as a digital key. A meeting room holds up to 35 people, which works for small military functions and team meetings. There is also a business center for printing.
A free hot breakfast is served daily, and guests have an outdoor pool with loungers and a 24-hour fitness center. Parking is free and includes EV charging with Tesla chargers. Dogs and cats are accepted, up to two per room, for a non-refundable fee.
This Hampton is a natural base for Hurlburt Field visits, graduations and relocations, and for families who want a quieter spot than the Fort Walton Beach strip. Shopping and restaurants at the mall are steps away, and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport is about 11 miles east. HarborWalk Village and Big Kahuna’s are within a reasonable drive for a day out.
