Townhouse Fort Walton Beach Hurlburt Field is a budget hotel at 480 East Miracle Strip Parkway in Mary Esther, on US-98 a few minutes east of Hurlburt Field. The property operated for years as a Baymont by Wyndham before moving to OYO’s Townhouse brand. Santa Rosa Sound is about a three-minute walk away and Santa Rosa Mall is roughly an 11-minute walk.
Hotels.com lists 51 rooms on two floors, with an elevator. Room types range from one king or one queen to two queens, and some include a sofa bed, which helps families stretch a budget. Rooms have air conditioning, a mini fridge, a microwave and flat-screen TVs, and some have balconies.
A free breakfast is included, and there is an outdoor pool, a small gym and guest laundry. Parking and Wi-Fi are free. Pets are not allowed, although service animals are welcome, and a refundable security deposit is collected at check-in. Guests must be 18 or older. Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out is at 11 am.
Reviews are mixed, and this is a no-frills option chosen mostly on price and proximity to the base. It suits short visits to Hurlburt Field, road-trippers passing through on US-98 and travelers who plan to spend their days at the beaches of Okaloosa Island, about ten minutes away. Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone is about four miles away.
