Holiday Inn Express & Suites Destin E – Commons Mall Area is on Hutchinson Street, just south of US 98 and a couple of blocks from Destin Commons. It sits between the shopping center and the Gulf, with the beach about half a mile south. The hotel has 74 standard rooms and suites.
The free Express Start breakfast runs each morning, and a bean-to-cup coffee machine is available at all hours. There is an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a business center and a guest washer and dryer. Parking is free with in-and-out privileges, and there is room for buses, trucks and boat trailers, which is unusual for Destin. Pets are not allowed, and guests must be 21 to check in.
Destin Commons is about a five-minute walk, Henderson Beach State Park about a mile west and Silver Sands Premium Outlets about four miles east. Destin Executive Airport is about three miles away, and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport around 15 miles.
It suits families and couples who want to walk to both the shops and the sand, anglers towing a boat, and travelers who want a familiar brand close to US 98. Check-in is at 4 p.m. Suites add a sofa bed for families. Weekend breakfast runs until 10 a.m., and the laundry room is handy for rinsing sandy beach towels between days.
