Mainsail

Mainsail is a gated beachfront condominium resort off Scenic Gulf Drive in Miramar Beach, just east of Destin. The resort covers about 15 landscaped acres, and its two Gulf-front towers stand directly on the beach, with a boardwalk leading over the dunes to the sand. Two more towers and a set of cottages and townhomes sit farther back with Gulf or garden views.

The two eight-story Gulf-front buildings hold 60 and 65 condominiums, according to association and county records compiled by Emerald Coast Condo Map. Rentals range from two to three bedrooms with two to three bathrooms and sleep six to ten. Guests who want a unit directly on the beach should look for Building 1 or Building 2.

Shared amenities include two pools, the South Pool Pavilion by the beach and the North Cottage pool, along with a hot tub, a kids wading pool and a playground with a waterfall. The grounds also have a fitness center, lighted tennis and pickleball courts, shuffleboard and two grilling stations.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin, with shops, restaurants and evening entertainment, is a short drive east, and Silver Sands Premium Outlets is close by. Destin’s harbor, restaurants and family attractions are a short drive west, and the beach towns of Scenic 30A are within easy reach.

Mainsail suits families and groups who want the feel of a full resort, with multiple pools, courts and a playground, while renting a privately owned condo. The mix of Gulf-front towers and quieter back buildings also lets larger groups spread out across the property.
