Suburban Studios near Panama City Beach, formerly the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, is a four-story, 69-studio property on US 98 on the west side of Panama City. Despite the name, it sits in town rather than on the beach, a few minutes east of the Hathaway Bridge. St. Andrews Bay is a five minute walk, Gulf Coast State College is about half a mile and Port Panama City is under a mile.
Every studio has a kitchenette with a microwave and full size refrigerator, along with a flat screen TV with premium channels and free Wi-Fi. The building has an elevator, guest laundry, vending machines and a 24-hour front desk. There is no pool or breakfast, which keeps the focus on simple, practical longer stays. A front-desk safe is available for valuables, and the air conditioned studios suit summer heat.
Parking is free, including extended parking for guests with work vehicles. Pets are not allowed.
The property is set up for weekly stays by traveling workers, port and shipyard crews, college students between housing and people relocating to Bay County. It also works for budget beach trips, with the Panama City Beach sand about 15 minutes west. Fast food and groceries are a short drive along US 98, and St. Andrews’ waterfront restaurants are a few minutes east. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is about 40 minutes away.
