Tru by Hilton Destin is on Henderson Beach Road, just off US 98 and a few minutes’ walk from the entrance to Henderson Beach State Park. A Walmart is across the street, which is handy for beach supplies and snacks. The hotel has bright, compact rooms in king and double-queen layouts, including rooms with bunk beds that work well for families with kids.

Breakfast is included, with a hot buffet and a waffle and topping bar. The hotel has an indoor saltwater pool that is heated, plus a seasonal outdoor pool. The lobby has games and seating areas, and outside there are fire pits and a bocce court. The fitness center includes a Peloton bike, and a 24-hour market sells snacks. Parking is free, with paid electric vehicle charging. Dogs and cats up to a set weight are allowed for a per-stay fee.

Gator Beach and the Henderson Beach State Park shoreline are both within walking distance, and Destin’s city center is about a mile west. The Destin Harbor Boardwalk and Crab Island are around four miles away, and the Gulfarium on Okaloosa Island about nine.
