Windancer

Windancer is a low-density, Gulf-front condominium building in Miramar Beach, roughly halfway between downtown Destin and Scenic 30A. The four-story building sits on the beach, and a private boardwalk crosses the dunes from the pool area to the sand.

Built in 1996, Windancer holds 48 condominiums, according to association and county records compiled by Emerald Coast Condo Map. Rentals include one-bedroom units with one and a half bathrooms that sleep six and two-bedroom, two-bathroom units that sleep eight to ten. Beachfront balconies face the Gulf and the white sand below. The building’s low height means short elevator rides and quick trips between the unit, the pool and the beach.

Shared amenities include a heated, lagoon-shaped pool, a grilling station with a lawn and stone patio, an elevator and the private beach boardwalk. Some rental companies include seasonal beach service from March through October, and monthly winter rentals are available.

Beachfront restaurants along Scenic Gulf Drive are close by, and Grand Boulevard, with dining, bars and shops, and the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin are a short drive east. Silver Sands Premium Outlets is nearby, and Destin’s harbor and attractions are a short drive west.

Windancer suits couples, small families and winter visitors who want a quieter, smaller building directly on the beach. The one-bedroom units are a good fit for couples, while the two-bedroom plans have room for families, and the monthly winter options appeal to snowbirds.
