Growler Garage
About
Growler Garage is a craft beer bar on West County Hwy 30A in Santa Rosa Beach featuring 40+ taps, open daily from noon to 9:00 PM at 4368 W County Hwy 30A, Suite 101, directly across from Ed Walline Regional Beach Access. The bar has been pouring beer at this address since 2015, and the tap wall has grown into one of the largest on this stretch of 30A, currently running 45 handles between craft beer and wine.
The beer list mixes Florida and Gulf Coast breweries with well-known national and import names, which is part of what earned Growler Garage a spot on the Cooking Channel’s Emeril’s Florida. Local and regional pours have included Grayton Beach Brewing’s Beach Blonde, Fairhope Brewing’s Therefore amber ale and Judge Roy Bean coffee stout, and 81 Bay Brewing’s Reel Slo Irish red ale and Lightning lager, alongside better-known names like Fat Head’s Head Hunter IPA, Dogfish Head’s Grateful Dead pale ale, Stone’s Buenaveza lager, and Left Hand’s Good JuJu pale ale. Parish Brewing shows up multiple times on the list, with the Ghost in the Machine and Braincake double IPAs and the Dr. Juice IPA, and sour ale fans can find Urban Artifact’s Gadget, Teak, and Squeezebox in rotation. Four wines round out the drink list: J Lohr Cabernet, Caposaldo Pinot Grigio, St. Francis Chardonnay, and Angeline Pinot Noir.

None of that beer list would matter as much without the room built around it. Growler Garage leans into a garage and biker bar aesthetic that has nothing to do with the beach directly outside its door: custom painted guitars and surfboards line the walls next to motorcycles parked as decor, and the whole space reads more like a garage that happens to serve craft beer than a typical beach bar. The bar sells growlers and t-shirts alongside the beer itself, and the outdoor patio gives visitors a spot to drink with an ocean view since the beach access sits directly across the street.

That combination of beer selection and offbeat atmosphere has earned Growler Garage repeat recognition in the Perfect in South Walton awards, taking home Best Craft Beer Selection honors in 2016, 2018, 2020, and again in 2022, all gold-level wins in a category with plenty of competition along 30A. The bar treats those wins as validation of a formula it has not changed much since 2015: pour a serious beer list, keep the room a little weird, and stay open every day of the week from noon until nine.

For visitors staying anywhere between Blue Mountain Beach and Grayton Beach, Growler Garage works as a reliable stop precisely because it never closes, which matters on a stretch of 30A where plenty of bars run limited or seasonal hours. Call (850) 660-1965 ahead of a visit during peak summer weekends, when the patio fills up fast with beachgoers walking straight over from Ed Walline, and consider it a natural pairing with a scoop or a praline from Pecan Jack’s next door for anyone splitting a beach day between the two.
