Tranquility on the Beach

Tranquility on the Beach is a gated Gulf-front condominium at 8600 E County Highway 30A in Seacrest Beach, on the eastern end of Scenic 30A near Alys Beach. The building stands on a sandy dune and is easy to spot for its contemporary take on castle architecture, with turrets and an angled footprint that gives each unit several different views of the Gulf of Mexico. Its location puts it close to both a state park and the eastern 30A villages.

Built in 1998, the four-story building holds only twenty residences, which keeps it quiet and exclusive. Rental listings describe spacious three bedroom, three bath condos that sleep about eight, with oversized beachfront balconies and open living areas. Because of the angled design, many units have views up and down the coast as well as straight out to the water. The turrets and rooflines make the building a recognizable landmark along this stretch of 30A.

Shared amenities include a heated community pool with a sun deck, an elevator, gated entry and a private stairway down to the beach. The association permits both permanent and transient occupancy, and only entire units may be rented. Every condo is individually owned and rented through owners and several local rental companies, so furnishings and extras such as beach chair service or bikes vary by unit. Rental companies note that guests should bring their own beach towels. Walton County’s Leave Only Footprints rules require beach gear to be removed from the sand each evening, and exterior lighting is reduced during sea turtle nesting season from May through October.

Deer Lake State Park is close enough to reach by walking along the beach, and it offers a boardwalk through the dunes and a coastal dune lake. Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach, with their restaurants, shops and events, are a few minutes east, while Seagrove Beach and Seaside are about ten minutes west by car. The 30A bike trail runs in front of the property, and Camp Helen State Park and Panama City Beach are a short drive east. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is about thirty minutes away.

Tranquility on the Beach suits families and groups of up to about eight who want three bedrooms and large balconies directly on the Gulf in a small, gated building. It is a good fit for travelers who want quiet beaches while staying close to Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach.
