About

The Okaloosa Island Pier reaches about 1,262 feet into the Gulf from Okaloosa Island, next to The Boardwalk. The county owns it and a private operator runs it. The first pier opened here in 1972, and today’s longer pier reopened in 1999 after hurricane damage.

Fishing and walking

  • Walk-on pass: $2.
  • Daily fishing: $8 for adults, $7 for seniors 65 and up, $5 for kids 6 to 12, and free for 5 and under. A Florida fishing license is included.
  • Annual pass: $240 for adults.
  • Rod rentals: from $30, with premium rods for king mackerel and tarpon.

Prices are plus tax. The octagon at the end is the favorite spot for kings and tarpon, and the pier shop sells bait, tackle, snacks, ice cream and beer.
