Gallions occupies a corner of Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach with an upscale restaurant and cocktail lounge concept built around small plates, coastal entrees, and a serious wine and spirits list. The restaurant is a sister property to the award-winning Shunk Gulley, and its name is a nod to the Gallion family, who were among the earliest residents of nearby Seagrove Beach back in the 1950s, giving the concept a tie to the region’s history rather than just a catchy name.

Executive Chef Frank Syzmanski builds a seasonally rotating menu that draws on global travel and coastal ingredients, and two dishes come up again and again in conversation: U-8 scallops finished with citrus and a basil-mint béarnaise, and a 30-day dry-aged ribeye served with summer truffle potatoes and panko-crusted asparagus. House-made ice cream, built from whatever fruit the garden is producing that season, closes out the meal on a lighter note than the steak might suggest. A grand quartz bar with sixteen seats anchors the dining room, staffed by sommeliers and bartenders who clearly know the wine list cold, and interior designer Erika Powell dressed the space in creamy leather bar stools, brass hardware, and patterned wallpaper that reads more like a well-appointed lounge than a beach restaurant. Reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are welcome at the bar or lounge seating. One detail worth knowing before booking a family dinner: Gallions shifts to an 18-and-up crowd after 2:30pm, so it suits a date night or an evening out with friends far better than a meal with young kids in tow.
