Vue on 30A
About
Vue on 30A serves as the signature restaurant of Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club, one of the older institutions along this stretch of Highway 30A in Dune Allen Beach. The club dates back to 1967, when Santa Rosa Beach was still sparsely populated with unpaved roads and little else. The golf course was originally laid out with nine holes meant to be played twice from different tees, and that layout still shows: the first tee box and the ninth green both remain visible from Highway 30A today. Long before Vue took its current form, the same club building served as the original restaurant and grille, the spot where members gathered for everyday meals and Saturday night bingo. That history gives the restaurant a sense of continuity that newer 30A dining rooms cannot claim.
What guests find today is Southern coastal cuisine built around fresh, seasonal ingredients with American, French, and Italian influences layered in. Floor-to-ceiling windows put the Gulf of Mexico about 50 feet from the tables, and the sunset views over the water are one of the restaurant’s biggest draws, enough to have earned Vue the title of Best Place to Watch a Sunset from Destin Magazine. Florida Travel + Life Magazine separately named it Best Waterfront Dining, recognition that reflects both the view and the kitchen behind it.

That kitchen is led by Chef Christopher Mayhue, who brings more than 20 years of experience, including time working alongside Chef Emeril Lagasse, to the menu. Executive Sous Chef Dalbert Hughes adds more than 30 years of fine dining background, with prior stops at the Broadmoor Hotel and other Emerald Coast properties. Together they run a kitchen focused on precise, seasonal execution rather than heavy sauces or overcomplicated plates, letting Gulf ingredients carry the menu.

The bar program matches the kitchen’s ambition, with an expansive spirits selection and a craft cocktail list built to stand alongside the food rather than as an afterthought. Happy hour runs Tuesday through Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m., a good window for guests who want the view without committing to a full dinner. Thursday lunches come with a house wine special, half off bottles, which locals treat as one of the better midweek deals on 30A.
Vue is open to the public, not just club members, for both lunch and dinner. Lunch service runs Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner runs the same days from 5 to 9 p.m.; the restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday. Reservations are recommended, and the restaurant takes them through OpenTable, a good idea during peak season when sunset tables fill up fast.
Beyond regular dining, Vue functions as a full events venue. Private dining accommodates up to 50 guests, and the club hosts weddings and larger private events for up to 200, with options ranging from an indoor space to a terrace or a beach ceremony directly on the Gulf. On-site catering and dedicated wedding planning support round out the offering, making it one of the more established event spaces along this part of 30A. For visitors staying in Dune Allen Beach who want a dressier night out without leaving the neighborhood, Vue on 30A delivers both the history and the view to justify it.
