High Pointe Resort

High Pointe Resort is a gated condominium community at 10254 E County Highway 30A, on the Gulf between Seacrest Beach and Rosemary Beach at the eastern end of Scenic 30A. The resort has five four-story buildings: two sit directly on the Gulf, and three are arranged around a free-form lagoon pool with a cascading waterfall behind them. Its association manager describes a long stretch of private beach in front of the property. The buildings share a Mediterranean look with stucco walls and tile roofs, and tropical landscaping with palms surrounds the pool area.

Built in 1997, High Pointe has about 108 condos in two and three bedroom floor plans that sleep roughly six to nine guests. Units in the Gulf-front buildings have balconies looking straight out over the water, while units around the pool have pool and partial Gulf views. Elevators serve the buildings, and many units have been updated by their owners.

The amenity list is broad. Beyond the lagoon pool, there is a kiddie pool, a spa, a tennis court, a playground and a shuffleboard court, and beach and bicycle services are available. High Pointe is also home to Crabby Steve’s, an on-site beach bar and grill right on the Gulf, which is rare among 30A condo communities. The resort is gated, and the recorded rules allow transient rentals. All units are individually owned and rented through owners and several local rental companies, so layouts, décor and included services vary by unit. Walton County’s Leave Only Footprints rules apply on the beach, so chairs and umbrellas must be removed from the sand each evening.

Rosemary Beach is next door, with its restaurants, shops, town green and summer events, and Alys Beach is a short walk or bike ride west. The 30A bike trail connects the resort to Seacrest Beach, Watersound and Seaside. Camp Helen State Park in Inlet Beach is a few minutes east, and Panama City Beach and Pier Park are about twenty minutes away. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is about thirty minutes away by car.

High Pointe Resort suits families who want resort-style extras such as a playground, a kiddie pool and an on-site place to eat, plus groups who want to be near Rosemary Beach. Guests who want front-row views should look for units in the two Gulf-front buildings, while the pool-side buildings put the lagoon pool right outside the door. The mix of Gulf-front and pool-view buildings also gives travelers a range of views to choose from within the same gated property.
