Holiday Inn Express Fort Walton Beach Central sits at 127 Miracle Strip Parkway SW, on the mainland stretch of US-98 west of downtown Fort Walton Beach. The hotel opened in 2018, and its central position between Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field makes it popular with military and contractor travelers as well as beach visitors. The Emerald Coast Science Center is about half a mile away and the Okaloosa Island Pier is under two miles across the Brooks Bridge.
The four-story building has 96 rooms and suites. Rooms include refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers, and the hotel is fully non-smoking. A semi-private pilots’ lounge gives flight crews a quiet place to rest between trips.
The standout amenity is an oversized zero-entry outdoor pool that is easy for small children and older guests to use. A free breakfast is served daily, and there is a 24-hour fitness center, free on-site parking and EV charging stations. Pets are not allowed, and there is no restaurant on site, though the parkway is lined with places to eat. Four EV charging stations, including Tesla-compatible plugs, sit in the lot.
The hotel suits families who want a pool day without going to the island, business travelers heading to either base, and visitors who plan to split time between Okaloosa Island, the Boardwalk and downtown Fort Walton Beach. Guests must be 21 to check in.
