About

Raw & Juicy brings a health-forward, community-minded café to Alys Beach, the New Urbanist community on Scenic Highway 30A in Walton County known for its white stucco architecture and walkable courtyards. The café is built around cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and a plant-forward menu that founder Jennifer Kuntz has been refining since she first started serving juice out of an Airstream trailer in nearby Seaside. Kuntz moved to the Emerald Coast from Boulder, Colorado, and opened the Alys Beach brick-and-mortar location in 2018, later adding a second location in Grayton Beach. The brand’s guiding line, “Where Nature, Pleasure & Community Intersect,” sums up a place built as much for lingering as for grabbing a quick smoothie.

The setting matches the philosophy: tranquil courtyards right on Scenic 30A, shaded by ceiling fans and tropical palms, with whimsical décor, fountains, and an outdoor fire pit that make it an easy spot to settle in. An adjacent playground keeps things workable for families, and the vibe stays relaxed enough that dogs and laptops are both welcome for as long as guests want to stay. Local artists display their work on site, and live music fills the courtyard on weekends, reinforcing Kuntz’s focus on building community around the food.

The daytime menu leans on clean, local ingredients: cold-pressed juices, smoothies, coffee, sandwiches, salads, and acai bowls, along with overnight oats and heartier plates like Costa Rican brown rice with black beans. It is the kind of menu built for grazing throughout the day, whether guests stop in once for a smoothie or return for lunch after a morning at the beach. The all-organic approach carries into the vegan and vegetarian dishes, which skip fillers, tofu, and artificial meat substitutes in favor of whole ingredients, exemplified by the Beet Lentil Walnut Burger served with purple potato fries and a cast-iron Veggie Skillet built on seasonal vegetables and a chickpea scramble. Fresh-pressed juices remain the signature draw, with the Pina Verde a standout, and the kitchen doesn’t skip indulgence entirely, pouring mimosas and bloody marys for anyone who wants a cocktail alongside the greens.

In the evening, Wednesday through Sunday, Raw & Juicy shifts into a dinner menu built around fresh, local, and regional ingredients, a different rhythm from the daytime juice bar. Reservations are recommended for dinner, while breakfast, lunch, and light bites run walk-in daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with dinner service continuing from 5 to 8 p.m. Gluten-free options run throughout the menu, making it one of the more flexible stops in Alys Beach for guests managing dietary restrictions.

Raw & Juicy also leans into sustainability in small but visible ways, serving juice in glass bottles and offering metal straw kits designed to cut down on ocean plastic, a detail that fits naturally with its Gulf-front setting and with Alys Beach’s broader emphasis on thoughtful, walkable design. The café sources from several small producers that got their start at the Seaside Farmers Market, including Sunset Ranch eggs, Noli South Kombucha, and Natur Baker pastries, tying the menu back to the wider 30A food community rather than treating Alys Beach as an island. Locally owned and run, Raw & Juicy gives visitors an easy option for a clean breakfast before the beach, a smoothie break between shops in town, or a laid-back dinner that swaps the area’s seafood-heavy menus for something lighter, all without leaving Alys Beach’s walkable core at 147 West La Garza Lane.
